13 Reasons Why I don't Have Cable TV Anymore

Well, my husband and I decided to move to a new apartment last year and we ended up discussing our bills. Here is the dialog we had while packing our things:

Landline - Honey, when was the last time you used this phone?
- Wait a minute. Do we have a landline?!
- Yes, we do. Let me introduce you: Phone, this is Fernando. Fernando, this is our phone.
- I've been living here for 4 years and I had no idea we owned a landline. Do we pay for it?

That was the moment we decided to go through all our bills and see how much money we were wasting on things we never use. We found out that we were paying for something as useful as our recently discovered landline: cable TV.

Since the advent of Netflix, we simply ignored the fact that we actually had another option. As soon as I turn the TV on, I go straight to Netflix, this amazing world where I can watch thousands of series, movies and documentaries. I can fulfill all my free time with episodes from Suits, seasons of Chef's Table which make me wanna teleport to those superb restaurants, or even learn tremendously essential information about meerkats. Or I can watch Friends for the 39190413904390th time, of course. Yes, I'm addicted to Netflix and you can consider me a professional couch potato.

After we made our decision to cancel the cable TV, I was the one in charge of the horrifying call we are all afraid of. If you're Brazilian, you're probably thinking about Judite. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to find a person that could help me during this adventurous journey of cancellation and I believe I'll be on Guinness for a groundbreaking realization. After all, I was able to cancel my service in less than 10 hours on the phone!
